Comprises audio cassette tapes and compact disks of interviews conducted with people associated with Geelong and broadcast on 3YYR Geelong Community Radio during the 1990s. The interviews contain personal recollections on a wide variety of subjects including sport, industry, the arts, social justice, World War II, education and health. The collection also includes summaries of each interview illustrated with photographs and other documents. Gwlad McLachlan conducted many of the interviews, arranged the archiving and prepared the summaries. The collection is added to on a regular basis.

Geelong Community Radio 3YYR obtained a licence to broadcast on 100.3FM in 1988. The licence was granted on the basis that the station would provide access to diverse groups within the Geelong community including migrants, Aboriginal people, the elderly, youth, women and people with disabilities.
